Applications Invited for Secretary of The Nightingale Fund.

 

The Nightingale Fund is a registered charity and meets three times a year, in London, for the purpose of distributing grants to nurses, midwives, health visitors and nursing assistants for course fees.

The Honorary Secretary is a paid role of £5,000 p.a. and requires five hours per week on average.

 

The role of the Secretary Includes:

 

  • Processing Candidate applications. Identifying when applications meet the criteria and advising of process. 

  • Clerking for three meetings a year. Arranging venue, inviting trustees and council members. Distributing agenda.

  • Finance: day to day book keeping. Paying bills/grants. Communicating with accountant and auditor.

  • Annual Return for the Charity Commission.

  • Monitoring and reporting on matters that affect the fund such as Common Reporting Standard.

 

Skills/Abilities         

 

Good written English

Professional Manner in person, by telephone and in writing

Computer: Standard MS Office package.

Website basic knowledge an advantage.

Willingness to learn/ability to seek information and communicate effectively the knowledge gained.
